The guys over at FantasySmackTalk.com are out with their sleeper rookie picks for the 2012 campaign.
They are in love with RG III. I call it the Cam Newton effect. I’ve been playing fantasy footaball for nearly 20 years and in that time almost all rookie QBs have been worthless. Cam Newton bucks that trand and now every rookie QB is qoing to be great, RG III, Luck etc. Don’t get sucked in! If RG III is there late, take him but don’t waist anything more than an ninth round pick on him.
Tradisionally rookie RB’s are the only rookies that are worth while. Trent Richardson CLE could be that guy in 2012.
The video is pretty qood. Take a look:
The Examiner.com is out with a top-10 list of fantasy football TE’s for the 2012 season.
I know Jimmy Graham was a stud last year and a top-flight TE and almost ensure fantasy football championships but buyer-beware this season. The Saints are going to struggle this season and Jimmy’s numbers are going to fall. I like Brent Celek of the Philadelphia Eagles as my sleeper TE pick for 2012.

I have to say that I like Eric’s picks better than Jim’s but putting Luck (IND) ahead of a lot of guys is a big mistake. Luck will struggle this year. I don’t care how NFL ready the scouts say he is. Does anyone remember the can’t miss talents of Heath Schuler an Ryan Leaf? If you want to be successful in fantasy football remember this quote, “make your RBs young and your QBs old”.
I like two QBs in the AFC West. Last year everyone was in love with Phillip Rivers (SD) and admittedly he had a bad year. But, he’s fallen out of the top 10 in most drafts and the San Diego office is still going to revolve around him.
My darker dark-horse is another AFC West QB, Carson Palmer (OAK). He numbers look terrible from last season but remember that he was traded mid-season and thrown into OAK’s staring line up. His numbers steadily improved over last season and I think he has some good targets to throw to.
