Our good friends at FFChamps.com just came out with a list of potenital draft busts. Read on:
Draft Day Busts: Jay Cutler, Pierre Thomas
With Fantasy Drafts taking place around the clock, we wanted to provide some strategy advice for those looking for players to avoid. We have a complete list of Busts:
Jay Cutler, Chicago Bears: Genuinely too injured to play or not, many in the Chicago area are still down on Cutler after not finishing the NFC Championship Game vs. rival Green Bay, and he will continue to take a beating with a still-shaky offensive line that will have a rookie protecting Cutler's blind spot at left tackle in Gabe Carimi. The erratic Roy Williams, still-unpolished speedster Devin Hester and Johnny Knox are not exactly a powerful group of receivers and Cutler lost one of his most reliable, if wildly underused, targets in tight end Greg Olsen. Don't consider Cutler as anything more than a No. 2 quarterback, especially since he averages 20 interceptions over the last three years.
Pierre Thomas, New Orleans Saints: The Saints drafted rookie Mark Ingram in the first round for a reason and that's to push Thomas to the side and take over as their rushing king. His ankle surgery is another reason to draft Thomas with extreme caution, and shouldn't be over-drafted going by his past success as a hero during the Saints' magical march to the Super Bowl back in 2009. His durability should remain an issue too, as he missed 17 games over his first four tours of duty in the NFL.
